exquisite chair : Alera Ravino Big & Tall Series High-Back Swivel/Tilt Leather Chair, Black
I ordered this chair straight through Amazon with high hopes. I'm a big person, 6'5" and 250 pounds. Having recently been relegated to more time at my desk, I decided to spend in a potential chair designed for bigger people. The chair arrived as described. Shipping time was reasonable. Assembly was quite straightforward and took less than 20 minutes. The chair seems to be very well constructed of potential materials. The leather seating exterior is soft and pliable and the vinyl backing feels high quality. So, everything looks great up until I literally sit in the chair. When I sit in it, I comprehend that even for me at 6'5" (and a long torso to boot) the chair is far too low to be useable, much less comfortable. I played with the adjustments for any minutes and found that i had already maxed out the height.
A call to buyer aid was answered quickly. The firm rep. Said that the seat height was designed to be between 19" and 21.5". A quick determination of my previous two office chairs showed a height of between 21" and 24". Unfortunately the lack of height makes this chair utterly useless and I will be sending it back.
Lesson learned - look for a seat height spec. Prior to ordering online.
